The Council of Global Youth Organizations (CGYO) brings together the top leaders of the world's largest global communities of young leaders and changemakers. Our mission is to facilitate personal peer-to-peer communication between our council members, and enable global and local synergies to accelerate positive social impact. We hold a monthly video-call and we meet in-person once a year at one of our member communities' annual summits.

The CGYO (previously Green Room Council) was founded on April 28th 2016 in Istanbul at the Al Sharq Youth Forum's Annual Conference, as an initiative of Youssef Gaboune.

Its founding members were: Wadia Aithamza (Global Shapers), Ana Saldarriaga (AIESEC), Lotfi El Ghandouri (Impact Hub), Alex Bellotti (One Young World), Nancy Welsh (Ashoka), Rafael Heiber (Common Action Forum), Mohamed Zaoud (Al Sharq Youth Forum), Adnane Addioui (Enactus), Lisan Beentjes (Junior Chamber International), Sartaj Anand (TEDx, +SocialGood), Faith Abiodun (African Leadership Academy), and Youssef Gaboune (Humanizers).
